A 134-room hotel built into Hamburg's WWII Flakturm IV bunker in St. Pauli, topped with five new floors and one of the city's largest rooftop gardens.
Hard Rock's second REVERB property worldwide and its first in Europe, built directly into the Hochbunker St. Pauli — a 1942 Flak tower with 3.5-metre-thick walls that survived because it was too solid to demolish. A €100 million renovation added five new floors and Hamburg's largest public roof garden on top of the original structure, alongside 134 rooms, a concert hall, and several restaurants and bars run independently within the building.
The novelty is the building itself rather than conventional luxury — expect concrete, graffiti art in every room, and a location in the middle of St. Pauli's nightlife rather than a quiet retreat. Not yet visited, but the concept alone earns it a place on the list.
