A Parisian-style brasserie and raw bar on the first floor of the Breidenbacher Hof, overlooking Königsallee, built on farm-to-table sourcing down to the hotel's own chickens and cows.
Named for the Grand Duchy of Berg, the historical territory that once had Düsseldorf as its capital, The Duchy occupies the first floor of the Capella-run Breidenbacher Hof overlooking Heinrich-Heine-Allee. The kitchen under Philipp Ferber runs a genuinely wide brasserie repertoire — sashimi and ceviche alongside steak tartare and ravioli — with a real farm-to-table backbone: the hotel keeps its own chickens, cows and a vineyard.
The Raw Bar is the centrepiece rather than an afterthought — oysters, caviar and champagne for a break between Kö shopping, or a full dinner at the marble counter. Not yet visited, but the combination of pedigree and reputation earns it a place on the list.
